June 14 Youth Street Art in San Rafael and then North to Seattle

Ah, what a beautiful day!! Jackie drove us up to San Rafael and we wandered around looking at chalk art in the street. The pictures include the mission and the kids working on their art. There’s one picture that was on display (not chalk) done by a fourth grader – do you think that kid can see colors on the face?! On the way back, we swung by the Presidio and I snapped a picture that includes the Golden Gate in the background. Jackie told me that George Lucas has really been a strong force in revitalizing the Presidio. We also drove by the Embarcadero. Jackie would like to live there in the city for a period of time, just to try it out. It looks just lovely. Then we grabbed a quick bite to eat and she dropped me off at the airport. It was so great to have some time to spend with her! I didn’t see Michelle, Greg and their kids because they were leaving later that same day for an extended trip to Costa Rica and were very busy taking care of all the last minute things. Then I flew to Seattle and John met me at the airport. We spent the night at a hotel next door to the hospital where his Mom was having a couple of out patient procedures done. I was kinda shocked to see that the Space Needle is much shorter than the other skyscrapers. Nothing like popping those childhood bubbles.
